I recently attended an event where I couldn’t help but notice how everyone seemed to be playing fashion copycat, bright large prints, big bags and similar footwear – It was as if they had all succumbed to the allure of blindly following the latest fashion trends.
In a world where trends are rapidly changing, it’s easy to understand why this happens.
In my view, there’s a profound beauty in embracing one’s individuality and nurturing your very own unique style.

Authenticity is the key

Each one has grown up with different experiences, travels and influences, and how we all see this world, is our own interpretation.
Authenticity is not about being different for the sake of it, but rather about staying true to yourself and expressing who you are through your choices of fabrics, prints, jewellery, footwear and other accessories. It should mirror and match with your inner self and not ape someone.

Wear the colours, the fabric, the dress, the jewellery your heart desires. Don’t let people tell you that you are too old or young for the colour, or the jewellery is too big or too small – style your outfit to what you feel. Confidence and Empowerment

I think it would be fair to say that we feel good when we dress up, look our best – it elevates our self-esteem and boosts confidence.
However, I’m not  sure if it is the same when we blindly wear that pair of tight jeans or sport a brightly multicolored print just because that’s what the models and influencers are sporting these days.

Diversity in style is a beautiful thing. Isn’t it amazing that in our country, we are blessed with an abundance of diverse handlooms, jewellery designs, styles, colors, and fabrics to choose from.
